Have you booked flights over the internet?

Interested in your experience (good or bad) with booking flights with internet providers such as Kayak,Travelation,Airfare, etc.Main question is, are you taking a chance or can they be depended upon? Don’t understand how some can have such low fares.

I usually book flights directly with the airline. I use Continental or Southwest airlines the most. I have Continental reward miles and get to fly with their partners too. With hotels I like to book with “www.hotdeals.com” Very reliable to book on line. No problems.

I normally book direct through the airline, but I have used Cheaptickets.com for a flight to North Carolina. Everything was fine. My sister ALWAYS books her flights through Priceline….and the only thing she dislikes is that with Priceline you don’t have any control over the time your flight leaves…so I’ve been stuck picking her up from the airport at 2AM…but when you save $150 on a flight that’s not all that bad.
I think what they are doing is selling the extra tickets that the airline itself hasn’t sold…so they can offer a discount. You will notice that often times the prices on these sites changes day to day or week to week….if the flight is “in demand” they can charge you more.
