After an airline accident why does the airline operator white out the titles?

After an airline accident where the aircraft is still intact, why do the airline operators white the titles out? My first reaction is that they don’t want other people to see the “distressed” aircraft but I wanted to know if there was any other reason or if they were required to do it. Just recently with the British Airways 777, they whited the titles out but they left the paint on the tail.

What airline should I apply for to become a flight attendant?

I have an interview with skywest airlines on tuesday the 18th. The only potential problem is that they are based out of Tuscon and I live in Phoenix. If they happen to give me Tuscon, will if be difficult to commute by flight to work everyday?? Looking for a flight attendant with experience to help me out.

Also, how long of a time from after training are you given to relocate to your assigned city/base? I found it a little odd that you find out where you relocate ‘after’ training…???

In addition, what airline should I apply for if I’m looking to be based out of phoenix or southern california?
I have applied with southwest and I was denied the position, more than likely because I wasn’t recruited for the interview to begin wiht (ooops).

Thanks for the help!

PS I’m a 21 year old female if that info is somewhow relevant.

When will the airline industry recover?

Robert H asked:

I am considering a career as an airline pilot. Every day on the news there is something regarding pilots being layed off and fuel prices forcing companies into bankruptcy. Hearing of these things is really discouraging me but the way I see it is that people will always need to fly so the airline industry can’t disappear. When do you think the airline industry will begin to blossom again?

I would really like to work for Delta Airlines. I am wondering what sort of majors would be best to obtain a career in the airline industry. I am considering communications, business, or French, and I was wondering what sort of jobs the airline industry has that uses those majors.

Any information is welcome. Thanks!
Also if you could add a ballpark salary estimate with any careers. But only if you have an idea. Thanks.
