When flying out on a vacation, is it typically better to get cheap airfare closer to the departure date?

I’m flying to Vegas in April and am wondering if I should try to get airfare now, or wait until closer to my departure date. Same thing with hotel rooms.

Create a video blog…instantly.
The earlier you book, the better rate you will usually get 99% of the time. This site has great cheap travel bargain sites: One site compares all the airlines for the best fare.

Generally the farther out you book the better..especially for April in Las Vegas…April is a very busy convention month in Las Vegas (no too hot… not too cold)..alot of people will be on spring/Easter break at that time and (most important!) if you plan on going for a long weekend (Thurs-Sun) or just a quick Fri-Sat the flights book up fast! Everyone wants to go Friday (after work!) and return on Sunday (mid to late afternoon after check out) so those days are the worst!

Better to search earlier, the fares are not cheaper as time gets closer, they go up in price. Check Vegas.com, check Southwest airlines. Southwest does package deals to Vegas includes hotels. Especially Vegas, the hotels sell out some times and you could get stuck paying a really high rate if you wait too long to book.

umm the lnger you wait the more you will pay because price goes up when you get closer to the date of travel especially with las vegas.
