The airline. What you do is go on a couple of those travel sites and put in your flight to see which airlines are available. Then go on to the site with the cheapest price and book through them directly.

There is no one single source that will always be cheapest–you have to shop around. The quickest and best way I’ve found to compare lots of the best sources is You put in your cities and dates one time, and it can check about 40 sources, including Sidestep, Orbitz, Kayak, Mobissimo, Qixo, Farechase, Hotwire, Cheaptickets, airlines directly, and more. It’s a huge time-saver.
However, not all airlines show up in the majour booking sites. Airlines like Southwest and Allegiant Air, which serve Vegas, have to check direct with their websites.

Travel prices in general are up this year. Unfortunately had you booked your hotel/air together you would have gotten a package airfare discount. April is high season, spring break. The longer you wait it will only go up in price. This is based on availability.
As far as online sites to book, why not try a travel agent. Online isn’t always “cheaper”.

I have checked Travelocity, Orbitz, Expedia and the airline itself many times. I always come out with the cheapest flight buying from the airline itself online. I’ve tried cheap tickets or cheap seats and while they are cheap…I hate having to have 3 stops and change planes twice in one flight from Detroit to Vegas or Detroit to Dallas. 12 hours travel time for a flight that takes 2 1/2 hours is not a deal to me, even if the ticket is free.
