7 days of vegas is overkill. specially if you have to find a cheap place. means you aint got enough money to even stay there for 7 days. vegas is only good for maybe 2 days at best. by the end of 7 days you’ll be BEGGING to come home

Try any of these: Wild Wild West, Four Queens, Fitzgerald’s, Plaza or Vegas Club. If your travel dates are flexible try to find a week with no large conventions or holidays, and if possible avoid staying Friday and Saturday, cause the rates go up almost double. If you are traveling by plane check Southwest vacations or Us Airways vacations, you’ll find really good deals.

Try the plaza hotel you can go to thier web address
They are downtown faceing Freemont street and you can probably get a week deal.
On the other end of the strip is a cheep hotel that used to be a Holiday Inn . It is just off the strip check out deals for them at:
GOOD LUCK

Since I don’t know what days you need the room for, I’m not going to guess at room rates. If you avoid special events and large conventions you can save a bundle though.
These are the best sites I know of to check LV room rates >usually the best
If you stayed at the Gold Spike you only have one way to go and that’s up..
Try Arizona Charlie’s on the Boulder Hwy or the El Cortez downtown, both are at least reasonable. >for AZ Charlie’s , they will price match
Sometimes you can find really good deals at Gold Coast and Orleans, both will price match any online rate you find for their hotel.
If you’re flexible on the days, May 28 - June 1st has very low rates, if you can work around those 4 nights you could save some money. The cheapest time of the year in LV is from December 9th - 28th(2007) >you can find some rediculous low rates during this time if you keep checking the travel sites above..
I’m already holding Dec 16th-26th at the Gold Coast >10 nights for a total of $224($20 Sun/Thur - $32 Fri/Sat) >rate found on travel worm(1/24) - I’m also holding May 28th - June 1st at Orleans , 4 nights for a total of $96($24 per night) >rate found on travel worm(11/9) - It is possible to find the deals, you just have to go when things are slow in LV and do a lot of research.

Check out Bouder Station Hotel. It is a very nice place at afforable prices.

No one else mentioned the Golden Gate, which is much better than Gold Spike, and is probably the cheapest downtown that is NOT a fleabag. Right in the middle of the Strip is Casino Royale, which probably has the lowest prices on the Strip. If you aren’t going for 2 or 3 months yet, try signing up online to get email deals. Go directly to the hotel website and register for the player’s club. Especially at the “locals” casino/hotels: Sam’s Town, the Station casinos…, for more check the reviews and links at
